Ma pratique, centrée sur le récit dessiné, s'étend au-delà, jusqu'à l'écriture, au récit-photo aussi bien qu'au film. Je suis avant tout préoccupé par le potentiel narratif et poétique des relations entre les mots et les images. L’image peut être tour à tour dessinée, photographiée ou animée, et le texte, à son tour être parole, didascalie, commentaire ou réflexion, mais l’image et le texte, en dépit de leurs processus de signification respectifs, qui diffèrent, se complètent et s’enrichissent toujours, et la question est de savoir comment…
Je m'interroge, par exemple, sur ce qui se passe quand les mots rencontrent les images, pourquoi ils se transforment en paroles, puis en récits. Je m'interroge sur leur rapport au personnage dessiné ou photographié ou filmé, sur la temporalité intrinsèque du mot confrontée à l’immobilité de l’image imprimée, ou l’inverse quand il s’agit d’image filmée, etc.
Mon dessin trouve ses racines chez Hugo Pratt et des géants de la BD américaine comme Alex Toth ou Noel Sickles.
Une autre de mes influences? La musique contemporaine, avec ses silences et ses timings extraordinaires!

My practice, focusing on comics (or drawn stories,to say it more acutely), includes as well writing, photo-telling and filmmaking. My chief concern is the poetical and narrative potential of the connections that link words to images. Image can be either drawing, photography or film, and text, either speech, description, comment or thought, but image and text, in spite of contrasting ways of carrying meaning, always complete each other, and always enrich one another, but the point is to know how…
I wonder, for instance, what is happening when words meet images, why they become speeches and turn into stories, what are their ties to the characters, either drawn or photographed or filmed. I wonder about the inner temporality of the word when facing the motionless printed picture, or else, the opposite, when the picture is filmed, etc.
My drawings are influenced by Hugo Pratt and giants of the American comics like Alex Toth or Noel Sickles.
Another of my influences? The classic contemporary music, with its incredible silences and timings.
